There is a group of Angel Sworn who eat from the tree of life to gain immortality. They live separate from the rest of humanity and have magical powers. The story centers around a young healer named Cimree who is apprenticed to become angel sworn. A Fear Liath breaks into the vallery and starts killing people. They go to ask a warrior Azra for help when more mysterious monsters start killing everyone. Cimree is given a medalion that sounds a lot like the Hetaera ones from the Muirwood series.
